FAQ

  • What kind of memberships do you offer?

We offer several different type of memberships. We have membership options for individuals and families.

Our most popular is the EFT Membership, which is an electronic funds transfer membership that bills on a monthly basis until you request to freeze or cancel. Our EFT Memberships do not have a contractual term.

Our Prepaid Monthly Membership is a great option for students home for summer/winter breaks or business travelers. With our Prepaid Monthly Membership you only pay for the number of months (1, 2, 3, etc) you want a membership.

  • Do I have to have my own gear to have a membership?

No. We have a few different gear rental options for you. You can rent gear on a pay-per-use basis for $5/visit or unlimited rentals for $20/month for individuals or $40/month for couples and families. When you are ready to purchase your own gear let us know and we can help you make the right selection. Members also receive a 15% discount through our pro-shop.

  • Do members get any additional benefits?

Absolutely! In addition to unlimited climbing access during regular business hours, members receive:

    Pro-Shop discounts

    • 1 Free Guest Pass/Month
    • Unlimited Guest Discounts/Month (max. of 3 guest discounts/visit)
    • Access to Member Only Events
    • Access to Member Outings
    • Free & Discounted Training Classes (specific classes only)
    • Access to our sister gym: Vertical Excape in Evansville.
  • I am going out of town for a few weeks. Can I put my membership on hold (Freeze)?

Yes. You can freeze your membership for $10/month/member. For EFT Memberships we must receive written notice by the 1st of the month to make your freeze effective for the next billing cycle on the 3rd of the month. Prepaid Memberships can be frozen at anytime with written notice. Click here for access to our Online Change Request Form.

  • I need to cancel or freeze my membership. What do I need to do?

Since our EFT Memberships have no contractual term, you can cancel at anytime. We only need to receive notice by the 1st of the month to cancel your billing. If your request is received after the 1st of the month, your cancellation will be effective the following month. Click here for access to our Online Member Portal. After logging in, proceed to either the memberships or bookings page on your profile to view or manage your account with us.

  • What is a Family Membership?

A “family” membership is defined as immediate family members living in the same household. Proof of same residency may be required.

  • How old does someone have to be to climb?

Our minimum participation age to climb is 5 years old, to boulder and/or belay is 12 years old, and to sport climb is 16 years old. There is no maximum age limit and we have had climbers in their mid-70s climb in our facilities. Climbing is GREAT activity for all ages.

  • What should I wear?

Good climbing clothes can be any that doesn’t restrict movement and allows for flexibility. For some people, that can be jeans and a t-shirt. Others may prefer sport-shorts, yoga pants, or sweatpants. Sorry but no kilts, skirts, dresses, or swimwear allowed.

Climbers are allowed to climb in tennis shoes or boots, but what works best are climbing shoes that are designed specifically for the sport. We have these available at the front desk as part of your gear rental package.
